7 Easter Party Ideas to Celebrate Right!
Easter is my favorite holiday. It’s a mixture, I think, of having an April birthday (in fact, Easter was on my birthday in 2017) and a mother that went above and beyond to celebrate Easter in a crazy elaborate, massively creative, and altogether awesome way. The Easter Bunny was cooler than Santa Claus in my house, and dying eggs was just a small part of the activities my mom lined up for us to do. I share a birthday with my mother, so maybe that’s why she loves Easter so much. I’ve never asked. I doubt I will before this blog post is published.
In any case, I think Easter is the quintessential spring holiday, and it deserves more attention and bigger celebrations across the board. That’s why I’ve curated a list of absolutely awesome Easter party ideas for the upcoming holiday. Keep in mind that NOAH’S Event Venue is the top party center around with beautiful locations perfect for hosting Easter parties that give the holiday the love it deserves while protecting your home from possible and not-so-fabulous Easter messes. For gigantic whole-family Easter soirees, consider utilizing NOAH’S Main Hall. Otherwise, the smaller rooms work great. Either way, you’ll have easy access to audio/visual equipment perfect for streaming Easter movies, Easter shows, Easter music (whatever that is) or playing games. Split the cost for a venue with a bunch of friends (because saving your house from a mess and making sure everyone can park somewhere is super worth it!) and make sure to book a weekday evening to save the most money! Now that you know where to host your better-than-ever my-mother-approved party, you need to know how. So hang on, I’m channeling my inner Easter guru and dishing out some of the best Easter party ideas ever. Here we go!
1. Organize the Egg Hunt
Okay, we all know the Easter Bunny is responsible for hiding the eggs, but my mom gave him some awesome stress-saving advice that I’d like to pass on to you. Don’t make the egg hunt a total free-for-all. Some kid will always be upset or hurt that they could only find one egg while their brother found 27, and forcing the brother to share his excessive egg bounty is not a fight worth fighting. Instead, count the number of children (or adults, I don’t judge) participating in the egg hunt and divide the number of eggs equally among them. Gather the participants together and say something like “The Easter Bunny hid 10 eggs for each of you. When you find your 10 eggs, you have to stop looking and let the others find the rest.”
You can even assign each child a symbol and mark a set number of eggs with that symbol. For example, Malori is assigned stars and Steven is assigned hearts. Malori can only put eggs marked with a star in her basket, and Steven can only have the hearts. This way you can make the eggs for older children more difficult to find, but everyone will get the same amount in the end. Hot tip! NOAH’S Event Venue has a fun Outdoor Patio with lots of tricky places for Mr. Bunny to hide eggs, and the other celebration rooms are equally fun! Steer clear of boiled eggs for the hunt to make sure super-tough-to-find ones aren’t rotting away until next Easter. Also, marking where you hid the eggs on a map isn’t a bad idea. Use one of NOAH’S layout maps to take notes easily!
2. Bring on the Egg-Celent Foodies!
We’ve all been to an Easter party with a honey-baked ham and a bunch of deviled eggs. While I never turn down a creamy yummy deviled egg, here’s a way to spice up the classic Easter food table: EGG-CITING EGG CONTEST!
When you invite people to your Easter Party, challenge them to prepare a delicious and creative egg dish. Throughout the party, people will try the various eggy dishes. At the end of the party take a vote on the favorite dish of the night; the winning chef gets an extra Cadbury Creme Egg! If you decide to save your kitchen and fridge from an egg-splosive mess, ask about our catering set-up. NOAH’S has a fridge/freezer onsite to keep these dishes chilled and ready for guests. (If you decide to save everyone else’s kitchens from an egg-splosive cooking mess, utilize NOAH’S industry-leading open-vendor policy to bring in Egg McMuffins or an Eggy Foodtruck or a normal restaurant’s yummy normal dishes.)
3. Say “Bye-Bye” to Egg Dye.
Every Easter party needs an egg decorating station, right? But vinegar and colorful tablets are messy, smelly, and ever-staining. Avoid all that by supplying acrylic paint, gold leaves, stickers, feathers, odds and ends, and a bunch of craft glue. Guests of all ages will enjoy sprucing up eggs in all these fancy decorations. What do I mean by odds and ends? Well, flowers, chalkboard paint, washi tape, fake tattoos, twine, sprinkles, paper, markers, ribbon, sequins, pom-poms, googly eyes, anything your heart desires!
Create an egg decorating station on one of NOAH’S nice, and yes I mean that, tables or for a gigantic awesome Easter party, dedicate one of NOAH’S smaller rooms for egg decorating. It’s important to note that these eggs might not be safe to eat. I’m not an expert or anything, but I doubt a crackable shell is a safe barrier to protect the egg from toxic paint and glue. Consume at your own risk (or, better, don’t consume at all!).
4. Create a Blind Candy Taste Test.
Let’s be honest, Cadbury Eggs and peanut butter cups shaped like bunnies are the best part of Easter, so turn Easter candy into its own party activity! Call up a couple of guests at a time to compete in a candy taste test. Blindfold each contestant, give them a piece of Easter candy, and whoever guesses the name of the candy first wins! Do this March Madness-style and create a bracket until there are two guests remaining. The final Easter-candy-blind-taster left standing wins MORE EASTER CANDY!
This is a great activity to do in front of a crowd. If your party is big, take advantage of NOAH’S onsite mics and audiovisual equipment to make sure everyone can get in on the fun!
5. Care about Carrots…in Your Decor.
What’s orange and sounds like a parrot? A carrot! Let NOAH’S awesome staff set up tables and chairs in our Ceremony Room (or Main Hall if your celebrating Easter BIG), and decorate each table in one of NOAH’S sweet and charming pastel-colored linens. To complete a folksy charming Easter table, make a centerpiece out of carrots! Use the leafy green ends to add dimension to a floral centerpiece. You can also make carrot napkin rings and a carrot silverware holder for a table that the Easter Bunny just carrot live without—yeah, that was a stretch.
6. On Easter, We Wear Pastel.
Why can’t your Easter party have a dress code? In fact, your Easter party should have a dress code. Require your guests to come donned in pastel colors from head to toe! Supply hair chalk to take the look a bit further. Set up a runway show midway through the party, where guests can show off their pastel looks. Or make it a red carpet entrance. You can go above and beyond and invite one of NOAH’S preferred vendor partners to snap photos of guests as they enter the venue. To find our list of recommended vendors, navigate to your location on NOAH’S Event Venue webpage and scroll toward the bottom until you see our monthly magazine MOMENTS which includes a list of our preferred vendors from photographers to caterers to DJs!
7. Create A DIY Flower Arranging Station!
Remember when I said Easter was the quintessential spring holiday? Well, I meant it! And what says “Spring” better than flowers? Purchase a variety of flowers in bulk and supply kraft paper and ribbon for a fun flower arranging station that your guests will adore! Who doesn’t love to play with flowers—especially when you get to take them home! Just like the egg decorating station, one of NOAH’S tables or smaller rooms will work perfectly for this activity. You can even set up a station on NOAH’S breezy Outdoor Patio.
Easter really is my favorite holiday, and with the right party at the right venue, it can easily be yours, too (move over Santa!). Even if you don’t go for every idea that my inner Easter Bunny soul came up with, just remember pastels, eggs, bunnies, and Spring, and you’ll be alright! If you’re planning an Easter party and you want a stylish space to catch the mess and stress, schedule a tour at NOAH’S Event Venue. We really are the top party center in the industry, and our friendly staff would love to help you craft the perfect Easter party (or any party for any reason). Call to schedule a tour today! Oh, and I did ask my mom why she loved Easter, she said, “It’s not as commercial as Christmas, but it’s still a fun holiday,” so there ya’ have it. Happy Easter, folks!
