What Time of Day Should You Have Your Baby Shower?

A baby shower is a great way to get together with friends and family, open a few presents, and celebrate the arrival of a new bundle of joy. When it comes time to plan the big celebration, either for yourself or for your loved ones, there are a lot of things to consider. How do you throw a party that is fun but not a ton of work? What food do you serve at a baby shower? Where can you have a baby shower? Don’t worry. Here at NOAH’S Event Venue, we can help you make all those decisions. Choosing a time for your baby shower will help with a lot of these questions. The time of your party will have a huge impact on the food, the cost, and the number of guests who can attend. Plus, different times set a completely different tone. What time will be best for your celebration? We’ve gathered a few options to help you decide!
Brunch: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Holding your baby shower over brunch is a great time choice because it means that guests can celebrate with you without dedicating the whole day. Plus, in my opinion, the idea of a brunch baby shower is just too charming. Most venues will have more availability in the morning, making it easier to get out of your cramped house. Holding your event at a party center like NOAH’S means that you get a beautiful space and dedicated staff to take care of the set-up and takedown of tables and chairs. A brunch baby shower allows for a bright and lighthearted mood. Crepes, waffles, yogurt, bowls of fruit, and many other breakfast choices are all easy, cheap, and fun!
Lunch: 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM
A lunchtime baby shower is a fun way to break up the day. However, Saturdays are often busy, both for your guests and for venues. Consider doing a weekday lunch shower. This will make booking easier and save you money on your venue. If you’re worried about guests who work, invite them to stop by on their lunch break. You’ll just need to make sure your venue is in a close and convenient location. Since this is a lunch event, it’s important to make sure you have some food options that are pretty substantial. Sandwiches, soups, and salads are great options for cheap and easy lunchtime refreshments.
Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Holding your baby shower in the afternoon may make it harder for some guests to come. Then again, if you are looking for an intimate and laid back celebration, this may not be a problem! Here at NOAH’S, we have space that will work for you no matter the size of your celebration. If you want the bash of the century with all of your friends, neighbors, and their friends invited, hold it in our Main Hall. If you’re looking for something just for your closest family, our smaller party rooms will work perfectly. The biggest benefit to a baby shower at this time is the food. Keep things simple with snacks and finger foods such as bowls of fruit, veggie trays, or chips and dip. These generally require little prep and are super affordable.
Dinner: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Getting together to celebrate with friends and family is a great way to end the day. Once again, hosting this event on a weekday will save you money. This also means that you’ll have less of a chance of conflicting with other major weekend events. Food is a must for a dinnertime baby shower. If you’re making the food yourself, we recommend going for something cheap and easy to make in big batches. The easiest option, though, is to opt for catering. That way you get delicious food and great quality with as little effort and energy from you as possible. Not sure where to find a caterer? Don’t worry, we’ve gathered our preferred caterers in your area! Go to NOAHSEventVenue.com and select the location page for your closest venue. Then simply scroll to the bottom to find our MOMENTS magazine. This magazine has listings for all of our preferred vendors in your area.
Dessert – 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
If you ask me, dessert is the best way to celebrate anything. A late night dessert party will allow you the opportunity to treat friends to something sweet as you celebrate. Cookies, brownies, cake, and tons of other sweets are simple, easy, and inexpensive refreshments to fill out a dessert table for your party. Holding your party a bit later in the evening also means that it’s less likely that your friends and family will have conflicting events, especially if it’s on a weekday. However, your friends who already have kids may need to hustle home to put them to bed and grandma may not be a fan of staying out too late (and when I say grandma, I also mean grandma friends like myself). Be aware of this if you decide to host a late night party and be understanding of people who may not be able to attend.
