A Cool, Modern Wedding with a Retro Twist at NOAH’S in Greenville, SC
Emily and Michael’s summer wedding at NOAH’S Event Venue in South Carolina could not have been classier. With a clean, trendy color palette of lavender and ivory as a starting point, the couple filled NOAH’S with a joyful, infectious atmosphere and sweet floral-themed decor elements. From the beginning of the day (a sunny al fresco ceremony on the veranda) to the very end (spoiler alert: a drop-dead-gorgeous vintage car!), Emily and Michael planned a chic, modern, and unforgettably lovely celebration.
Emily arrived at the NOAH’S early so she could take advantage of our special bride’s suite, wherein she and all her lovely bridesmaids could spend the morning getting ready together. While the bridesmaids dressed in on-theme lavender dresses, the bride wore… white, of course! Emily’s white gown boasted a full A-line skirt and delicate off-the-shoulder straps. She wore a flowing, floor length veil that fluttered in the breeze oh-so-beautifully and trailed behind her everywhere she went. We were positively drooling over that veil! The final finishing touch was her lush bouquet of all white roses and greenery. The effect was bridal perfection!
Michael’s wedding attire was classic and dashing, with a crisp black suit and matching tie, a white pocket square, and a chic pair of black-framed glasses. His groomsmen wore matching suits and ties, and the whole gang polished off their ensembles with stunning rose boutonnieres.
One of our favorite types of wedding ceremonies that we offer at NOAH’S are our half-indoor/half-outdoor weddings on the patio. Our ceremony rooms are specially designed to open directly onto the beautifully landscaped veranda, while allowing guests to sit in climate-controlled comfort indoors. Michael and Emily’s ceremony was gorgeous; full of natural light and the sweet smell of growing green things coming from the back garden. Utter perfection.
Michael and Emily designed a bright, clean wedding dinner and reception afterparty with a chic, vintage vibe. With gold-edged, vintage-esque tableware including dainty teacups and saucers as well as gauzy tablecloths decorated with retro filigree motifs, the dinner felt like something out of a classic novel. Tables were laden with heavy garlands of silver-dollar eucalyptus and olive, plus arrangements of heady-smelling white roses and soft lavender hydrangeas. Tiny candles flickered moodily in glass containers and name cards were printed in a frilly, feminine cursive.
Reception details that we adored included ornate silver candelabras topped with thick purple-marbled candles, gleaming silver picture frames, and live ferns placed on the floor amidst tall glass vases and pillar candles to create pretty, organic displays. The couple utilized NOAH’S customizable ceiling and lighting design plans, opting for our elegant Spoke chandelier, a silky white draperies, and subtle lavender highlights for a soft splash of color. As parting gifts, Emily and Michael gave their guests personalized wedding date cookies and custom beer koozies. So cute!
The most magical element of the reception had to be the gorgeous specialty table where Emily and Michael created fairy garden tableau centered around their impeccable four-tier wedding cake. This cake table was unstoppably charming, with a whimsical round backdrop twined with olive leaves to frame the cake, piles of delicate lavender ribbons, and a mind-blowing abundance of exquisite fresh flowers. The cake itself was almost too pretty to eat: garnished with white roses and tender greens and frosted crisply in blinding white icing… Let’s just say this cake stole the show!
Finally, the part we all waited for: the car! The couple’s getaway vehicle was a smashing white Rolls Royce that was absolutely dripping with glamour and elegance. After a teary sparkler send-off and kisses for the crowd, the newlyweds drove off in old Hollywood style and we were all swooning. Congratulations to Emily and Michael!
